Outrageously expensive for four umeboshis
It's pretty subtle. Adding a small amount to a true sweet potato (the white flesh) was great. The hint of yuzu added complexity to the starchiness of the potato, not to mention a beautiful creaminess. A little bit of this product was added to plain stir fry broccoli and cauliflower and the yuzu element was totally lost. Perhaps too much heat broke it down. This might be better in dressings or as finishing oil.
I think I may have been expecting some kind of sticky sweet plum sauce, but instead it's more of a highly concentrated tart salty plum quite similar to the dried salted plum candies I grew up eating. It's such a surprise. I'm not sure what to pair this with. I few drops on a spoon right out of the bottle is quite addictive.
I recently visited Tokyo and came across this Japanese Hot Sauce, This is an incredible sauce and I am happy to be able to buy this from your site !
It tastes great on everything !
