Sudachi Syrup, 16.66 floz
Sudachi is a unique Japanese citrus, native to Tokushima Prefecture—the region produces 98% of the country’s sudachi. About the size of a golf ball, it has an appearance reminiscent of limes and also boasts a sharp sourness and refreshing aroma. A single sudachi actually contains more citric acid than one lemon. Made from freshly harvested sudachi in the company’s own orchards, Nishiji Foods’ Sudachi Syrup is full of invigorating citrus flavors. Rich in vitamin C, sudachi’s sourness is quite intense but it is blended with beet sugar and apple cider vinegar, which results in a mild taste with a delicate sweetness. Just dilute the syrup with still or sparkling water to make an original drink, or even add it to cocktails. You can also enjoy it by pouring over yogurt, ice cream, or shaved ice. Sudachi Syrup has no additives.
It is recommended to dilute Sudachi Syrup in the ratio of one part syrup and five parts water. But you can adjust the proportions to taste and even use sparkling water or seltzer instead of still water. This syrup, with its bright sudachi citrus flavor, can also add a great twist to your concoctions. You can simply mix it with gin, vodka, whisky, or shochu-based beverages, but it also makes a wonderful cocktail if you add a couple of drops to beer or hard seltzer. If you have sweet tooth, just pour it over yogurt, ice cream, or shaved ice to elevate your desserts.
