Carefully handcrafted in small batches, Kitomura’s Organic Yuzu Marmalade features a brand of organically grown yuzu citrus known as Kito-Yuzu. This premium yuzu is grown in Kito village in Tokushima Prefecture without using pesticides, herbicides, chemical or animal-based fertilizers. The yuzu is characterized by its large size, beautiful color, refreshing aroma, and thick rind, the combination of which is perfect for marmalade. Kitomura’s skilled craftspeople hand-press the yuzu to squeeze out the fresh juice, thinly slice the rind, and simmer them together with organic beet sugar and honey sourced in Japan. To enjoy the marmalade’s elegant flavor, not only can you spread it on bread, but it can also be served with desserts like ice cream, yogurt, and cream cheese. We also recommend making drinks with the marmalade too. Just dissolve some into black tea or hot water to create a wonderful yuzu flavored drink.
Organic Yuzu Marmalade is great with bread and baked items like muffins, pound cake, and cookies. Also, because the marmalade is less sweet and boasts yuzu’s refreshing citrus flavor with a touch of bitterness, it pairs very well with creamy desserts, such as yogurt, ice cream, and panna cotta. You can also serve it with savory cheeses—with Brie it’s especially good. For something a bit more playful, you can make yuzu cream cheese by combining Organic Yuzu Marmalade (1 tbsp) and cream cheese (2 tbsp). Yuzu drinks are also wonderful options. Just dissolve some marmalade in hot water or black tea to create a tasty yuzu flavored drink.
